Meet Paul

Santucci for State Senate
Republican / District 22

I have been a Smithfield resident for 50 years. My wife, Liz, and I raised our family here, and I have been an active member of the community for decades. I am now taking the next step in my commitment to the people of Smithfield, North Providence, and Johnston by running to be your State Senator.

My Pledge to You

I envision a future where the fruits of the economy will be higher-paying jobs and lower taxes. Transparency of government will attract companies to Rhode Island, and our colleges will feed the economy with graduates.
As your Senator, I pledge to:

  • Be proactive in support of the common good
  • Reduce government regulation and create policies that benefit our communities
  • Advocate for legislation that lowers costs for cities and towns
  • Help cities and towns understand their capital programs
  • Create conversation and change with regard to Other Postemployment Benefits (OPEB) liabilities

Noteworthy Experience

  • President, Smithfield Town Council 2017-2018
  • Past Member, Smithfield Water Supply Board Advisory Commission
  • Past Member, Smithfield Charter Review Commission
  • Past Volunteer, Rhode Island Intake Center Ministry Program
  • Coordinator, God’s Little Acre (Since 2004) – Quarter-acre organic garden producing 3,000 pounds of fresh produce annually to serve needy Rhode Islanders
  • Communicant at St. Philip Parish and Men of St. Joseph

I am committed to working for the good of all Smithfield residents.
As such, my campaign is not accepting any contributions, monetary or in-kind.
